Another newbie

Hey all. Just stumbled onto this site a few minutes ago. Picked up my '17 denim black with red pinstripe this past weekend. Not new to bikes but new to harley. Riding has been standard and sportbikes; after a 1 & 1/2 yr hiatus I thought I'd try something new and liked the looks of the roadster when I saw pics of it. The dual front disk and inverted front forks; and ability to put on stock rearsets sold me on it. Gotta admit that the moto guzzi griso was my #1, but went with the roadster in the end b/c of the difference in aftermarket parts availability. Looking forward to learn lots from everyone here.

No real miles on it yet. Just 20 miles for the ride home. I may have to call sick 😈

I think you will be happy with your choice, Harley is slowly coming out with many new parts specifically for the Roadster, however you will find that with very little modification you can make most parts simply for sportsters fit just fine. Sounds like you probably already knew that considering you were looking into Moto Guzzis, but either way welcome to the forum. I have the black denim as well. Be careful with your paint, it's easy to scratch and you can't just buff it out. I have a few scratches now that I am simply learning to live with.

I think a sick day would be fully justifiable

Either that or call in and say you have to go to therapy.... riding this will be very therapeutic and good for the soul

You make it sound like the Roadster is the only choice.
Welcome to the forum and I'm sure you won't be disappointed with your decision to go with the Roadster. Pretty great bike from Harley.
